Why Nepal
Nepal has been a huge part of Joe’s life for more than 20 years.
During that time, he has spent countless months in the country climbing, trekking, paddling, leading expeditions and working alongside local guides, porters, drivers and families.
But the biggest thing Nepal has given Joe and Alexander Adventures isn’t the adventures. It’s the people.
They became our Nepali family.
Over the years, the people we work alongside have become far more than guides, drivers and colleagues. They have become our Nepali family.
Following the devastating flooding, this has become incredibly personal for all of us.
We’re keeping in close contact with our team, friends and families on the ground. Sadly, some members of our wider Nepali family remain missing, including Diwas, and we continue to hope and pray that he and everyone else still unaccounted for are found safe.
We don’t want to simply put up a post and move on.
We want to do something that can genuinely help.
Where the money goes
We want the entire process to be transparent.
We’re currently working closely with our contacts and team in Nepal to make sure the money raised goes where it can make a genuine difference.
Alexander Adventures takes nothing. Every pound raised goes towards supporting the people and communities of Nepal, apart from the card processing fee Stripe charges for handling the payment, which is deducted before the money reaches us. On a UK card that is 1.5% plus 20p, so a £25 donation arrives as £24.42.
Alexander Adventures is not a registered charity, and donations made through this site are not eligible for Gift Aid. We would rather tell you that up front than let you assume otherwise.
