Participant declaration

When you tick the participant declaration during registration, you are confirming the following. Please read it properly. It is about your safety, not just paperwork.

• You believe you are fit enough to walk the section you have chosen, over rough and uneven ground, in whatever weather the day brings.
• You have told us about any medical condition, injury, medication or accessibility need that the support team should know about, and you understand that we cannot look after you properly if you have not.
• If your circumstances change between registering and the event, you will tell us.

• You take part at your own risk. Walking long distances in open country carries real risks, including uneven ground, exposure, weather, road crossings and darkness.
• You are responsible for bringing suitable equipment: boots or trail shoes, waterproof jacket and trousers, a warm layer, food, water, a charged phone, and a head torch for any early-morning or evening section.
• You will follow the reasonable instructions of the Alexander Adventures support team, including a decision to stop, divert or withdraw you from the route.
• You will not take part under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Alexander Adventures provides a support operation: vehicles leapfrogging the route with food, water, warm kit, lighting, communications, navigation and first-aid equipment.
• The support team is not an emergency service. In a genuine emergency we will call 999 like anyone else.
• Support vehicles cannot reach every point of the route, and there may be a wait. Timings are estimates and will move.

Alexander Adventures holds public liability insurance covering this event. That cover protects against claims arising from our organisation of the event.

It is not personal insurance for you. It does not cover your own belongings, and it does not provide personal accident, medical or travel cover. If you want that, please arrange it yourself.

You must be 18 or over to register independently. Anyone under 18 may take part only when accompanied throughout by a registered parent or guardian who takes responsibility for them.

You commit to raising or donating a minimum of £250 for the campaign. This is not an entry fee. See the terms and conditions for how that works.
