A fundraising challenge organised by Alexander Adventures. Joe walked from Carlisle Castle to the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle in one continuous push, to raise money for the people and communities of Nepal affected by the devastating flooding.

The team set off from Carlisle Castle at around 17:30 on Saturday 26 September 2026 and kept walking through the night and throughout Sunday 27 September, reaching the Tyne Bridge inside twenty-four hours.

He starts at Carlisle Castle and finishes underneath the Tyne Bridge on the Newcastle Quayside.

No. There is no overnight stop and no sleep. He travels continuously from Saturday evening until he reaches Newcastle on Sunday.

A team of five to seven walkers, Joe among them, set off together from Carlisle and went the whole distance together. There were no additional walkers joining along the route.

The walk is now finished. The next challenge is The Tyne: source to sea, on 19 and 20 January 2027.
