The Wallfor Nepal.
Carlisle Castle to the Tyne Bridge. Sixty-five miles, straight through the night, on no sleep. They set off together and they finished together.
How it went
Carlisle to the Tyne.
Sixty-five miles, inside 24 hours
A team of walkers took it on alongside Joe, each of them committing to raise at least £250 for Nepal. They left Carlisle in the afternoon, walked out along the Wall as the light went, and kept going through the dark.
There was no overnight stop. A minibus leapfrogged ahead with hot food, dry socks and somewhere to sit down for ten minutes. Beyond that it was just walking, hour after hour, through the crags and down into the Tyne valley as it got light again.
They reached the Tyne Bridge on Sunday afternoon, inside twenty-four hours.

From the team
What an absolutely epic weekend! 🥾🔥 Carlisle Castle to the Tyne Bridge (photo evidence 🤣) along Hadrian's Wall, with no sleep and one continuous push, something I'm pretty sure none of us will ever forget! I'm incredibly thankful to everyone who shared the experience. A massive thank you to Joe for organising the whole thing and getting us all through it, (never do this again though) and to Nicola, (or Nic, definitely not Nikki 🤪) our absolute hero of a support crew, for keeping us fuelled with endless tea, coffee, food and everything else we needed to keep putting one foot in front of the other. ☕️🥪❤️ It was tough, exhausting, hilarious, emotional and completely unforgettable. An epic achievement that I think will leave us all connected for a very long time, especially after everything we experienced along the way… including that UFO experience! 👽🤣 Proud to have done it, grateful to have done it with such a brilliant bunch of people, and definitely one for the memory bank. 100km. No sleep. One hell of an adventure. ❤️ And yes… I'm still wondering what the hell we saw in the sky. 👽😂 although Tim thinks he's sussed it 🤔 we will never know for sure!!!

Thank you to everyone who gave, shared it, stood at the roadside, or drove through the night so the walkers did not have to carry everything. None of this works without people deciding it matters.
